(Our founding story)
MediaMo helps businesses thrive in the new era of digital marketing.
Our founder Dr Lavender Shu is a seasoned cross-cultural marketer and communications professional with over a decade's experience within the tourism, aviation, retail & education industries. She also holds a PhD degree in digital marketing and researched a topic that sits very close to her heart - How do Chinese students use social media to choose an overseas study destination. During her time at Brisbane Airport Corporation, she struggled to find a locally based company that could provide all-rounded media/marketing services for the Chinese market, hence she decided to build her own that does.
Armed with her substantial academic background and industry experience working for Tourism & Events Queensland and Brisbane Airport Corporation, She founded MediaMo in 2020.
MediaMo is a bilingual full-service media/marketing agency, with a mission to bridge the communication gap between organisations and the Chinese audiences in Australia as well as in Mainland China.
With over 10 years of experience in cross-cultural marketing, MediaMo is well versed in the Chinese market and highly experienced in utilising Chinese media. MediaMo provides a wide range of services such as digital marketing solutions, multimedia production and influencer marketing.

Dr Lavender Shu
Founder & Chief Executive Officer
Lavender is a seasoned cross-cultural marketer and communications professional with almost a decade’s experience in the tourism, aviation, and retail industries. She had undertaken various positions in digital communications, PR and marketing research analysis.

Armed with her substantial industry experience working for Tourism & Events Queensland and Brisbane Airport Corporation, she had developed an in-depth knowledge to draw upon when she completed her PhD at The University of Queensland, which investigated the “Influence of social media on study destination selection: a study of Chinese outbound students”.
Christina Ma
Marketing Coordinator
Christina is a passionate digital marketing professional with a client-first approach. She is constantly striving to optimise results focusing on end-to-end campaign management and producing integrated multi-channel marketing campaigns.
Having built, led, and marketed her own multi-channel platforms, she is skilled in the effective growth of brand awareness and impressions through the creation of engaging content. Fluent in Mandarin, Japanese and English, she has extensive experience in leading the delivery of high-quality marketing campaigns for multinational companies. Christina has studied at China’s Beijing Foreign Studies University, Japan’s Ritsumeikan University, and completed her Masters of Applied Econometrics at The University of Queensland.
Jia Ying Teh
Design Specialist
Jia Ying is a professional graphic designer. She brings a range of art and design disciplines to each of her projects. From brand strategy and user interface design to creative writing and front-end development, her work reflects an appreciation for the complete brand experience.
The words "create" and "design" have always sparked a passion and excitement within her. For her, design is a way to change the quality of her own life, and a way to change the way others live. With over 2 years of experience as a freelance graphic designer, fluency in both English and Chinese, she is well versed in a variety of digital media marketing, including online advertising, social media posts and promotions, and brand identity design.

Jeffrey Chen
Coming from a strong business background, Jeffrey started his photographing journey 6 years ago. He is specialised in commercial/product/landscape photography and Videography, Ariel Drone Videography, postproduction, content producing and media relation. Jeffery is the winner of Lord Mayor's Photographic Awards 2021 .
Steve Fu
Starting from a photography enthusiast, Steve started his photographing career in 2014. He is specialised in commercial/events/wedding photography as well as post production in both photography and videography.
